So I am officially in the middle of IVF. Sometimes it's so difficult for me to believe I am going through this. I try not to think too hard on how I got to this point or if the treatment will work. I'm living in the moment, taking each day as it comes.

My initial ultrasound looked promising, with 11 total follicles counted during my baseline. I managed to get my medication in the nick of time after multiple phone calls EVERYDAY to CVS Specialty and BCBS Insurance. The shots are not as painful as I expected after reading so many other couple's IVF blogs (this was a pleasant surprise). I am going through a very aggressive treatment because of my high FSH and low AMH levels. Every morning at 7:50 AM, I start my day with an injection of 150 units of Menopur, a follicle stimulating hormone. Each evening at 9:30 PM, I wrap up the day with an injection of 225 units of Gonal-F, another follicle stimulating hormone. When they checked my hormone levels on Monday morning, 5 days after starting the stims, everything seemed to be progressing as expected. I have continued with the same treatment and return to the clinic tomorrow for additional blood work and an ultrasound. Crossing my fingers that my body continues to respond well!
